SHH Transmission #1

The first SHH update is here! Announcing the first "official" release on Strange High House (SHH01), a lathe cut 7" titled When The Columbines Bloom by Providence, RI's own MARES LAIG
When The Columbines Bloom

Mares Laig is the project of Jon Goldy. The lathe cut 7"s have already been approved and are to be released very soon. These records are cut on a hard, totally clear plastic that delivers a quality sound for Mares Laig's first SHH effort after two previous tapes, self released: Beneath Enormous Voice (2012) and Secret. Violent. (2012).

This newest release, which will be limited to 15 copies, is a special 7" that slowly feeds your ears a creeping dose of melancholy and disquiet. Certain techniques evoke an atmosphere of the contemplation of violence, or perhaps the uncertain calm after the act. Extremely pleasing stuff - - more information very soon.

And here are two recent releases which I don't consider official SHH releases, but are available as a distro item:

Demo tape (2013)
Life Is Pure Joy e.p. (2014)

Thumbscrews is a one man hardcore/punk band from Providence, RI that has released two tapes in it's one year of existence: a demo tape in 2013 (hand stamped edition of 99 copies) and a follow-up e.p.,  Life Is Pure Joy (2014, edition of 50 copies). Thumbscrews delivers an unhinged and personal assault, characterized by nails-on-chalkboard guitars with a blown the fuck out production. Youth crew gone wrong, this solo project deals heavily with issues of the deaths of friends, addiction, alienation and sexual assault.

More updates soon--including info about Mares Laig When The Columbines Bloom 7" and more upcoming releases.
